Each our our needs is unique and there isn't a cookie-cutter approach as is often presented. We all learn skills differently and at different paces, and that is the beauty of our neurodivergency!!! We're a space to connect parents for brainstorming, learning about our neurodivergent brains, building a massive toolkit to try an support our kids to close the executive functioning deficit. For our courses, we've streamlined multiple resources into one concise program, highlighting effective methods that can easily be woven into daily life in multiple environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is executive functioning?

Executive functioning refers to the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully.

For example, ADHD is more than just an attention deficit - really we see everything at once. I commonly explain it as we've just gone shopping and our cart is full of food. For a neurotypical, when you ask for the steak, they can pull out and hand you the steak. For the ADHD brain, we have to sift through the whole basket touching everything until we find the steak ... it's hard to just pull it out! Our brains are designed differently so we often struggle with task management, emotion regulation, memory retention, and more. However, we can gain these skills with practice - and patience (ok and tears) - which is the goal of It's NOTED. We approach executive functioning development from a lived experience approach along with hours of education and certifications on top of 20+ years experience in crisis communications. We've walked through and gotten stuck in the same mud and are ready to help pull you out onto a more solid path. Let us help you understand the world of neurodivergency and unlocking the hidden skills.

PS We personally know how difficult it is to support our kids gaining these skills that we lack ourselves!

How do you tailor your services?

We are lived experience parents who understand the challenges of raising neurodivergent adolescents while also being neurodivergent ourselves. Recognizing the superpower that lies within our resiliency, we strive to engage, strengthen, and develop the lacking executive functioning skills seen in ADHD and mental health.

Who can benefit from your programs?

Our programs are beneficial for neurodivergent families seeking to improve their executive functioning skills, including students and adults. Please come with an open mind and a desire to learn, brainstorm, and be awkward.

About me

I thought growing up was hard ... and then I became a parent. Watching my sons grow up with similar struggles was heart wrenching and I didn't want them to have to stumble-learn with emotionally skinned knees like I did. When my kids were young, I became engrossed in fully learning about our flavor of neurodivergency and mental health challenges.  Because, let's be real for a second, how could I - who has all these same struggles - truly help them develop what I lacked? It was terrifying! Falling back on my degree that built my education and research foundation, I jumped into the mental health advocacy world fighting hard for the voices of our teens to be heard - especially our twice exceptional ADHD boys. For their struggles to be understood.  For their hearts to be seen and felt. What I found was a lack of resources tailored to shoring up the executive functioning deficits so many of us face that can significantly impact our worlds. In true ADHD fashion, I became a collector of textbooks, courses, certifications, and academic journals, learning everything I could about executive functioning and unwrapping the neurodivergent blocks. While those of us with ADHD & mental health struggles may never hit the neurotypical ability to be perfectly super organized, highly efficient at tackling tasks, or perfectionists at emotion regulation, there are tools to learn to make it easier and more fluid for us so we don't have to struggle as hard. Together we can explore shoring up our weaknesses in a socially awkward, non-judgmental environment.
